SnookCam quick guide
1. Open the SnookCam app and select the table. If you are about to stream or use another device as a remote control, open also SnookCam Connect app and leave it open to the background. Avoid pressing anything on the screen after starting the stream until there is a red LIVE at the bottom of the screen.
2. Menu -> Reset match if scores and frames are not 0.
3. Press the name to change it. Handicap can be entered by longpressing the player’s name, entering the handicap and pressing Set
4. Best of can be changed by pressing the number at the right top corner inside the brackets.
5. Select the player to break first by pressing the score of the respective player to be active (bigger and bolded font).
6. Switch turn for the first time by pressing START. After this the turn can be switched by pressing either SAFETY or the incoming player’s score. (The player to break in the following frames will be correct automatically when the first turn change is done by pressing START. The pot success which becomes visible after each frame is correct only if the turn change after safety is done by pressing safety and by pressing score after the missed pot. Otherwise it makes no difference whether you change the turn by pressing safety or the player’s score.)
7. Fouls (F4 etc.) are to be entered when the player who committed the foul is active (bigger and bolded font). The turn is changed automatically after the foul and options for removing a red (X) and for free ball scoring become visible. There will be red NO MISS text between the names if the situation is such due to the score difference.
8. A red can be added or removed by longpressing the red which opens a window for that.
9. The arrows next to START/SAFETY are Undo and Redo.
10. CONCEED at the bottom of the screen ends the frame. (Also Menu -> Conceed frame . + sign above or below frame wins adds frame win to the corresponding player in view 5.)
Other tips
1. By longpressing the score you can edit the scores from the window that opens. You can change the whole break to the other player from there as well.
2. Frame wins can be edited by pressing the respective frame.
3. You can see all the presses done by longpressing SAFETY.
4. Menu -> Restore scores if the app is closed by accident for example.
5. Score view can be changed by pressing Menu -> Change view. (The view 5 lets you press any balls you want. The frame is ended by pressing + for the frame winner in this view.)
Using the still shot when replacing the balls after the miss
1. A still shot of the current situation is taken when you press the camera icon in the upper left corner of the screen. This still shot is placed as a transparent picture on top of the live hawkeye video. A still shot is taken also when pressing scores and turn changes. A still shot is not taken when pressing any foul, nor the turn change after the foul. This is in order to have the still shot on the screen to be from the situation before the foul. The hawkeye video becomes visible on the screen by pressing HAWKEYE from the bottom left corner of the screen.
2. Still shots are taken also automatically every 3 seconds. You can scroll the still shots by pressing the gallery icon from the right top corner of the screen. Select the still shot you want to see by pressing the respective still shot. Automatic still shots are not taken when the gallery is open.
3. If there is a delay in the hawkeye video it can be reseted from Menu -> Reset hawkeye. The same reset happens by pressing SnookCam logo. The still shot on the screen and in the gallery remains despite the reset.
STREAMING
Press GO LIVE from the bottom of the screen. Select Public (public for everyone in YouTube) or Private (watchable only via the link) and then Start streaming. The link of the stream is sent to the email visible on the screen (addresses can be edited and added). Quick start starts the stream with the same title and public/privacy setting as the previous stream. Also use Quick start to start streaming if you have created the stream by yourself in advance in YouTube Studio.
If you can’t see the stream in YouTube despite the red LIVE on the bottom of the screen: Press LIVE, then Stop streaming. Then start streaming again by pressing GO LIVE etc..
If the stream ends for some reason or there is something wrong with the stream and there is a red LIVE text at the bottom of the screen: Press LIVE and then Reset. If there is no white dot on the upper left corner of the screen besides the time, open SnookCam Connect app and leave it open to the background before selecting Reset.
If the app “crashes” for some reason during the streaming: Open the app again, select the table, then MENU and Restore scores. The scores are restored and the stream continues automatically if it was on before “chrashing” provided Restore scores was pressed within 1 minute from the stream having stopped..
Streaming is ended by selecting LIVE from the bottom of the screen and then Stop streaming.
